Sources and licences of the data
Le Bon Pro reuses open data from public registers. It is neither official nor affiliated with the bodies that publish them: the official register prevails.

Licences from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec
Source: Licences actives, published by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec on Données Québec. Licence: CC BY 4.0.
From it we take the licence number, its type, its category, its subcategories, the legal status, the issue date, the licence bond, the due date of the annual fees, the restrictions, as well as the name, address, email and phone number that the Régie publishes with the licence. This email and number are shown on the company’s profile, as the Régie publishes them, and the email is used to notify the company of a new review or to verify a request to claim a profile. The score out of 100 is our own calculation from this data: the Régie is not its author.
Postal codes: GeoNames
Source: GeoNames, file of Canadian postal codes of November 4, 2026. Licence: CC BY 4.0.
We keep only the centre of Quebec’s postal areas (the first three characters of the postal code) to measure the straight-line distance between two areas. We do not use anyone’s address.
The date of the data
Licences are reloaded every day. The date of the data used is written under the search results and on each profile. Between two loads, the information may have changed at the source.
An unofficial site
Le Bon Pro is neither official nor affiliated with the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, GeoNames or any public body. For a check that matters, before signing a contract, consult the official source.
Report an error in the data
The data is never entered or corrected by hand on our side: it comes from the sources. Two cases:
- The error is in the source (for example an address or a licence bond on the licence): have it corrected with the body that publishes the register. Our copy is updated at the next load.
- The error is in our display or our calculation (a score, a ranking, a text): write to us at contact@lebonpro.ca with the licence number, what is wrong and, if possible, a link to the official source.
A company that disputes its score must first have its data corrected at the source: we do not change a score on request.
