How it works
Le Bon Pro helps you choose a construction contractor in Quebec using public registers and customer reviews. Three steps.
Last updated: November 7, 2026
1. Search
Choose a trade (plumbing, electrical, roofing…) and a place: a city or a postal code. No account is needed.
We rank licensed companies around that place: the highest-scoring ones near you, the acceptable ones near you, then the ones farther away. “Near” means, to begin with, within a radius of 25 km; you can change it. Companies whose score is below 40 are set apart, under “To check”.
2. Check
Open a company’s profile: its licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, its licence bond, its annual fees, its years in business and any restrictions. Each company has an administrative score out of 100, with the detail of each point.
The score measures administrative soundness, not the quality of the work. See the “Score and reviews” page.
3. Compare and choose
Ask for references, proof of insurance and several quotes before you sign. Check the licence with the Régie du bâtiment du Québec. A licence in good standing is not a guarantee of quality.
Customer reviews help you complete the picture.
And reviews?
- Writing a review is free: all you need is an account.
- The number of published reviews and their average are public. Reading the text of reviews requires a reader subscription (the price has not been set yet; during the launch, access is granted by hand).
- The company is notified of each review and can read it for free. It can reply with the company subscription; the review and the reply are published together.
The full rules are in the review policy.
What the site does not do
- It is not official and is not affiliated with any public body.
- A company cannot pay to move up the list or to change its score.
- It never mixes the administrative score and reviews.
- It gives no advice and does not vouch for a contractor.
